New programme of Study - Update.

HPSET have set the standards for registration of qualified Hospital Play Specialists since 1988.

During this period the programme of study has evolved to meet the changing requirements and scope of practice of the profession. The validation period of the current course expires in 2009 with certification available until 2012.

The current exercise of developing the new course is no different to what has happened previously! The consultation on the format of the new programme of study is ongoing to ensure that it is fit for purpose, available, accessible etc.. (see Annual Report 2007)

Once the consultation period is over and decisions taken on the appropriate route of entry to the register information will be formally released on this website.

It is anticipated that courses currently recognised as valid qualifications for registration and working in the profession will continue to be so as they underpin the experience and continued professional development of the practising Hospital Play Specialist.
